What an amazing day we had! Kicking off at 11 am with the reveal of our new cheeky Santa on the roof top, our MC Paul Klaassen entertained us with his funny repartee; introducing the musicians, announcing the shows and generally keeping things moving. The eastern end of The Lane was packed with kids and adults alike; queuing for a face paint or a complicated balloon construction by our our ever smiling balloon artist Alice. Being handed free puffs of candyfloss by our fairies and flowing up the stairs to The Sapphire Room for a free show and a photo opportunity with Santa by The Amazing Travelling Photobooth.
First up in The Sapphire Room was The Dust Palace performing Table For Three to gasps of amazement at the acrobatics, then 3 Ring Riot put on a great show with hula girl Deryn French and Paul's Klaassen's double act of humourous clever antics. Finally at 2pm our favourite French clown JP took the floor with his inimitable brand of magic, illusions and balloon silliness! It is clear by the children's faces how much they enjoyed all the shows, and adults were also spotted with tears of laughter running down their faces. The day was rounded off with a kids disco, with a great DJ who knew just what to play.
Meanwhile in the Lane was a succession of talented musicians took our tiny stage in the Lane next to Jimmy the Fish.
Thanks to JR from The Production Agency for hooking us up with Sam Allen, Eddie Gaiger and Kelly Barnes. And also to the talented Jazz duo that was Craig and Stewart of The Oriental Express.
Bring on Christmas ...we are ready for you!
